The annual Prismàtic meeting is a space for learning and debate between the scientific community and the actors who take part in decision-making on natural heritage and biodiversity. This year it revolves around nature-based solutions – which in recent years have emerged strongly as an alternative to the more classic forms of management that are detached from the environment.

The aim of the day is to bring together the scientific knowledge of several Catalan research groups such as The Institue of Aquatic Ecology by disseminating nature-based solutions across restoration of natural heritage and biodiversity policies, both in the terrestrial and aquatic environments continental and marine.

Dr. Xavier Quintana will be presenting the objectives of the Hidronet-Baix Ter project, a NextGen EU project aimed at restoring river ecosystems and reducing the risk of flooding in urban environments through nature-based solutions.

Venue: Administrative District of the Generalitat of Catalonia (Carrer del Foc, 57, 08038 Barcelona)
